day 5: je ne comprends pas...

...but this day was magnifique!

we had a mission for our last few hours en paris.
get to the best croissants advised by ali at carl marletti.
and so we go.
and they are closed. only for today.
due to a photo shoot of apparently some of the best pastries en paris...

so we settle for a boulangerie across the street..settling en paris for pastries is like hitting the jackpot. everytime.

and some ice caffe and ice chocolat

with a short visit to the jardin aux plantes...
and along the way we are invaded by space invader numero trois

at the jardin...

they were that good, i suppose...

giraffe riding a giraffe

hitch hiking on ginas shoulder

on the TGV on our way to avignon

spotty got his groove on with our young passenger friend's hello kitty headset

priscilia and, we think, her grandmother got a kick out of spotty...who doesnt?

merci priscilia!

yum~ [how do you say this en francais?]

bisous!

blair witch project moment en the TGV via priscilia and my ipad's photo booth app

spotty gettin' a lotta love from the ladies en route to avignon centre

[more adorable french kids and more hello kitty. tres awesome.]

more sweets from sweet priscilia

we didnt totally understand each other's words but we had a great time.
we understood that we felt safe around each other and that we were happy to get to know one another...i believe spotty was a force of attraction.

at AOC. le planche degustation et chote de rhone

salades...ginas had green beans in it & mine had honeydew and mozz in it. both tres delicieux!

the chocolat mousse was quickly inhaled...far too quickly before we realized we didnt snap a photo...

nouveau ami. the warm feeling is mutual.

theatre festival en avignon calls for many theatrical displays around town centre

an actual mime performance. tres jolie!

at the palais des papes. ETREINDRE!

view from the palais des papes

view of one of the main rues from our hostel

avignon is an intimate space without being intimate.
nooks and crannies all on top of each other.
its quieter [except right now...theatre festival...] in general
but i get the feeling these very close walls have ears that are quick to pick up on each others gossip.
small town.
its very lovely here.
tomorrow we are off for our 3 day bike tour...

must sleep.

bonsoir!

bisous
xx
